"Drawing is like riding a bike downhill when you stop thinking about how if you hit a rock you’ll lose the skin on one side of your body."
Diane Olivier, my drawing teacher, today
Today was clean-up day in the print studio. I noticed for the first time that the presses have chains like bikes. The chain connects the hand crank to the surfaces that press together to make the print. It's the same concept as the bicycle's foot crank connecting to the wheel that hits the pavement. Maybe this is obvious to everyone but me, but it seems a beautiful example of how everything conforms to the same fundamental concepts.
Yeah, I should also make some art about bikes.
